BT Consumer: Team Based Scheduling Agreement Recommended

The CWU is recommending an agreement on attendance patterns called Team Based Scheduling.

For the last three years the Union has been pressing BT Consumer to make improvements in the arrangements for attendance patterns.  We have been clear that the current arrangements are not good enough due to the lack of predictability of attendances, variable start times, and a poor work life balance.

We have now reached a position where the CWU Executive is able to recommend a new Agreement on Team Based Scheduling.

The proposed Agreement would extensively overhaul and improve the existing 2015 arrangements. If endorsed the Agreement would:

  • Provide long term predictability of attendances and days off.
  • Maximise full weekends off.
  • Minimise the number of single days off.
  • Operate defined start times in all patterns.
  • Bring in new FlexiTime options.
  • Allow more choice over when to take breaks.
  • Provide continued protections where needed via the Exceptional Change of Hours policy.
  • Protect Sunday earnings.
  • Revise notice periods for changes.

We will be holding members’ site meetings from 20th January onwards to discuss the proposed Agreement.
