How do I join the CWU?

You can join the CWU online via the Join Us page here.

The online joining process will take just a few minutes of your time and you will receive email confirmation once complete. A further email will be sent to you when you have been allocated to a branch and your application has been fully processed.

How much will CWU membership cost me?

Membership costs from £4.70 to £16.54 per month.

Subscription fees vary dependant on employer and number of hours worked per week.

When joining online you will be quoted the amount your membership fees will cost.

What are the benefits of membership?

Being a member of the CWU means that you’ll be joining forces with over 185,000 other workers and speaking with a stronger voice for a better working life.

Benefits include legal advice, free will writing service, various discounted insurance rates and hotel and travel benefits that members can access via our member portal.

How do I contact my union rep or local branch?

All local branch contact information can be found by using the drop down on the Contact Us page.

Having trouble logging into the members area of the website?

If you are having issues logging into the member portal of the website, please contact the Membership Department (membership@cwu.org) and they will be able to provide you with your log in details.

I'm being bullied at work. What can I do?

If you are experiencing bullying and harassment in the workplace, please contact the CWU harassment helpline on FREEPHONE 0800 090 2303

Members and branch officials are encouraged to report incidents of bullying and harassment so these can be recorded on the CWU national harassment complaints database and ensure victims receive the support and protection they need. Members are advised to seek the assistance of their branch or local rep in filling out the complaint form below and read the guidance notes before completing the form.

Does the CWU have a complaints procedure?

If you have a complaint about a work related issue then your local branch secretary should be your first point of contact.

If you have a complaint about your local branch representative, secretary or a CWU official, please contact head office on info@cwu.org

What are CWU headquarters opening hours?

CWU Headquarters operates from 9:00-17:00, Monday to Friday.
