The CWU has successfully negotiated a final offer from BT. This follows a set of intense negotiations, against a backdrop of falling inflation with CPI dropping to 3% in January and forecast to continue falling over the following months. The final offer delivers an increase in line with inflation for all CWU represented grades, as well as ensuring that the lowest paid members remain on rates of pay which are above the new National Living Wage (as of 1st April 2026).

Team members must be in BT Group employment on 1st April 2026 to be eligible for the pay uplift.

  • Team members on or below £30,000 full-time equivalent (FTE), pro-rated for those on part-time hours, will receive a 4.1% pay rise, consolidated and pensionable from 1 April 2026.
  • All other Team Members will receive a 3% pay increase, consolidated and pensionable, effective from 1 April 2026.
  •  Allowances listed below will increase by 1.5% from 1st April 2026.
Shift working, on call, foreign language, supervisory (cover/short and long term), Outside Broadcast, Terrestrial Earth Station.

All allowances linked to hourly rates of pay will increase by the appropriate percentage rise as outlined in bullets one and two above.

  •   If you are an apprentice, you will have been notified individually about the way this pay review impacts you. This is due to variations in how pay uplifts apply depending on the type and duration of apprenticeship.
