Improved Minimum Salaries for G1’s
Improved Minimum Salaries for G1’s
The CWU has for many months been arguing that the level of salary paid to the lowest paid is below that of many competitors and in April last year our Annual Conference decided this was a priority issue in the Santander Group.
We are pleased to report that we have now made an interim agreement with Geoban on an immediate improvement to the minimum salary for all existing and new G1 employees.
Our joint discussions are continuing, however, we are pleased to confirm the following changes that have been agreed and will come into effect as of 1st October 2017:
- Minimum annual starting salary for full time staff (FTE) will increase to £16,000.
- Salaries of existing employees in Operations 1.1 will increase to a minimum of £16,400 (FTE).
- Minimum of salary range for Operations 1:2 Job Pool will increase to £16,500.If you are employed in either an Operations 1:1 or Operations 1:2 role and are currently paid below £16,400/£16,500 for your role, you will receive a salary increase paid in October 2017 payroll onwards.Existing Pay Progression/interim salary reviews will continue to apply but joint discussions are continuing on the reward package applicable for March 2018 which will encompass future pay progression arrangements. As a reminder, as part of the 2016 agreement of a 3 year pay deal, all salaries are due to increase by 2.3% on 1st March 2018 and the salary scales will increase by 1%.
Our aim is to complete the on-going joint discussions as to whether further changes are necessary as soon as possible, but no later than March 2018 and will communicate the details agreed in line with these discussions.
