A MESSAGE FROM THE GS: UPDATE ON ROYAL MAIL DISPUTE AND BT PENSIONS CONSULTATION

Union Matters

It has been another busy week across the CWU.

Following mediation we are now in a position to communicate effectively with you once again. Please take a look at the link below where DGSP Terry Pullinger gives members a full update on the dispute. We will get more information out to you in the coming days and weeks;

Members in both of the BT pension schemes should by now be aware of the companies consultation period and your unions opposition to it. Packed out meetings are taking place across the UK and the response from CWU members to the #TellBTNo campaign has been fantastic.
On Wednesday 13th December at 6pm I will join DGS(T&FS) Andy Kerr for a live Facebook Q&A with our BT members. This session will give you the opportunity to ask the unions senior officials any questions relating to pensions in BT.
The session will be hosted on the National CWU Facebook page www.facebook.com/thecommunicationsunion – you do not need a Facebook account to view the Q&A.
Please share this information with as many of your colleagues as possible.
Finally, we held our annual political event in Birmingham yesterday. There we some fantastic contributions from across the union and the day showcased the strides we have made in recent times in this area.
Our aim is to connect our industrial and political strategies and engage our members in this process. In line with this we opened the session up to members via Facebook Live and over 7,000 of you have watched it so far. If you missed out you can catch up via the link below;
