ADVANCE NOTICE: STRIKE BALLOT RESULT – 115,000 POSTAL WORKERS IN ROYAL MAIL GROUP – TODAY AT 16.00

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) will be announcing the results of a second strike ballot across the whole of Royal Mail Group at 16.00 today (Wednesday 17^th August).

This will be the second announcement for the CWU in as many months, with a previous result seeing workers vote to strike on an unprecedented level (97.6% on a 77% turnout) to take strike action, which will now be taking place on the 26^th and 31^st August and the 8^th and 9^thSeptember.

The ballot announced this afternoon will cover Royal Mail’s proposals to destroy long-held terms and conditions of postal workers.

If successful, the ballot may lead to the announcement of further strike action.
