Post Office members: watch out for your POPP newsletter

The first edition of a new bulletin aimed at keeping thousands of Post Office workers fully informed about their pensions is on its way out to members this week.

“This is the first of what we intend to be regular newsletters to all our Post Office Pension Plan scheme members, updating them on any important developments,” says CWU assistant secretary Andy Furey.

Batches of Pension Plan Newsletter are being mailed out to workplaces this week, and the edition is also available electronically – via email and WhattsApp groups.

“The main story in our first issue is the establishment of our governance committee, something we’ve set in place jointly with the company and our partner union Unite, all of whom are represented on the committee” Andy explains.

Meetings are scheduled, organised and facilitated by independent experts Aon, while the account manager from scheme provider Scottish Widows has a slot at the meetings, in which their representative runs through the current performance of the scheme and then takes questions.

“It’s good to have this committee up and running and it’s also a step in the right direction to be sending out regular and up-to-date information to all scheme members,” Andy continues.

“And also, I’d like to ask our POPP members please to give us your feedback on the bulletins and any important matters, or queries you feel need to be addressed.

“And we’ll do our very best to resolve your issue.”
