BT Pension Scheme: Member Nominated Director vacancy

BT

A vacancy has arisen for a Trustee of the BT Pension Scheme (BTPS) – and nominations are now being sought from any past or current scheme members in CWU membership with a good knowledge of, and commitment to, occupational pension schemes who wishes to apply.

The vacancy has occurred because former CWU national officer Bill McClory, who has served as a trustee for over 20 years, has decided not to seek a further term of office when his current period of office runs out in January 2020.

In the BTPS Trustees are known as Member Nominated Directors (MNDs).  The Directors of the BTPS are responsible for running the UK’s largest private sector pension which has around 286,000 members and assets of over £50 billion. It is a role with wide-ranging responsibilities and one that requires a high degree of personal commitment.

The MNDs are selected by a panel comprising representatives of the CWU, Prospect and National Federation of Occupational Pensioners (NFOP). The CWU, Prospect and the NFOP are all advertising this position.

Applications for the vacancy must be submitted by 10am on November 25.
