LTB 650/17 – BT Pension Review
No. 650/2017
28th November 2017
To: All Branches with BT members
Dear Colleague,
BT Pension Review
I am writing to update you on a number of things in relation to our campaign to reject BT’s Pensions Proposals.
Branch Pension Meetings
These are now underway and head office speakers are being allocated to speak at every branch meeting. Could I please encourage you to take a picture of as many people as possible at the meetings, holding up a #TellBTNo poster. These should then be posted on social media using the hashtag: #TellBTNo.
Survey
It’s our intention to issue a membership survey late this week asking a series of questions in relation to what our members think about the BT Pension Review. I would ask you to encourage your members to fill the survey in as the larger rejection of BT’s proposals we get the greater influence we have when we start to negotiate with BT. More information will follow in due course.
Merchandise
You should have received posters, stickers and button badges in the post with the #TellBTNo logo on. You can order more merchandise via Pellacraft, to help with your campaigning by contacting them direct: kayleigh@pellacraft.com or telephone 01623 636602 quoting BT Pensions Logo.
Further to LTB 639/217, inviting you to join the whatsapp group; please can all CWU representatives sign up to the representatives number and encourage your members to sign up to the members’ number. We will send targeted information through these groups.
On-line presentation
An on-line presentation will be available by the end of the week. This will be a PowerPoint presentation, similar to the presentation being provided at branch meetings, the presentation includes a voiceover. We will distribute this via whatsapp, text, email and social media. We encourage branches to share this vital information for members.
Facebook Live
We will be holding a Facebook live event on Wednesday 13th December at 6pm. I encourage everyone to get involved. It’s likely that we will be asking members for questions in advance. Further information will be reported.
Yours sincerely
Andy Kerr
Deputy General Secretary (T&FS)
