LTB 363/20 Royal Mail: Traffic Transformation – Production Demand Support Roles – Joint Statement
No. 363/2020
14th July 2020
Dear Colleagues
ROYAL MAIL: TRAFFIC TRANSFORMATION – PRODUCTION DEMAND SUPPORT ROLES – JOINT STATEMENT
Further to LTB 336/20 dated 26th June and the associated Joint Statement which set out measures to address the resultant changes created by the switchover on 29th June to the new Traffic Transformation solution.
We have been in discussions with Graham Long, Head of ER/IR, Corporate Functions and the project management team with regards to dealing with the headcount reduction amongst the LA grade Production Demand support roles. In this regard, the attached Joint Statement outlines the key principles agreed for the resourcing of the new role. The JS provides members with the details of the full preference exercise which will be held with all impacted LAs performing the Production Demand Support role with preference forms being sent electronically on Friday 17th July. The closing date for the preference exercise is Friday 7th August.
Also included within the JS is a link to an email address for our Production Demand support members to pose any questions they may have. Any questions received will be shared with us with the intention of jointly working up the answers in order for agreed FAQs to be published where possible. In addition, a jointly hosted conference call will take place with all Production Demand support members on Friday 17th July. Full details of how to join this call will be sent to members via email.
Branches are urged to bring this JS and the associated activities to the attention of our LA members on Production Demand support. I am pleased that our agreed resourcing principles will ensure our LA members are treated fully in line with the MtSF agreement.
Yours sincerely
Andy Furey
Assistant Secretary
