ZOOM CALL ON POLITICAL FUND BALLOT- BRANCHES/REPRESENTATIVES
As per LTB 217/24, you will be aware that the CWU is required to hold a Political Fund Ballot this year, in order to allow the union to continue having a political fund and campaigning voice in the political sphere.
It is vitally important that we win this ballot, which as previously explained will open on the 24th of September and close on the 15th of October. We will soon be launching a wide-ranging ‘Yes’ campaign across the union and branches also have a key role to play in ensuring we communicate with members and encourage them to use their vote in the ballot.
We are therefore holding a Zoom meeting with the General Secretary, the Head of Communications and other relevant staff for branches and representatives, to provide important information on the ballot and answer any questions you may have. The call will take place on Tuesday the 10th of September at 6:30pm. Please see the link below to join:

This video call will be followed up with a brief for branches and representatives, with key information on the ballot, persuasive arguments for a ‘Yes’ vote, as well as a breakdown of our political work.
Each branch is required to send a representative to attend this call, whether that is the Political Officer or another relevant representative. We appreciate this call is scheduled for the evening but this is due to our attendance at the 2024 TUC Congress. Please let us know if you have any issues with being able to attend.
