LTB 197/19 BT Consumer: Recruitment Rate for TM2 Removed
No. 197/2019
2nd April 2019
TO ALL BRANCHES WITH BT MEMBERS
Dear Colleague
BT Consumer: Recruitment Rate for TM2 Removed
The recruitment rate of 90% of salary for TM2 Service and TM2 Sales grades is being removed this month as a result of an agreement with the CWU.
This change will benefit 900 advisors and from now on anyone who joins BT as a TM2 in Consumer in future will be paid the full salary from day one.
Originally introduced as a temporary measure in 2016, the lower rate applied for the first nine months in post. BT agreed to abolish this lower pay rate by the end of March 2019 as part of our agreement on Contact Centre Transformation (LTB 474 /2018).
The removal of the recruitment rate coincides with the introduction of the 1st April 2019 Pay Agreement between the CWU and BT. This deal secured an increase in pay rates for TM grades of 3% plus £150.
The combined impact of these two changes is shown below, and results in a 15% increase in annual pay.
- TM2 Service: pay will increase from £19,580 to £22,558.
- TM2 Sales: pay will increase from £19,250 to £22,181.
BT will be communicating directly with the impacted individuals today.
If Branches have any issues with the application of this change which cannot be resolved locally please contact CWU HQ.
Your sincerely,
Nigel Cotgrove
Assistant Secretary
