ROYAL MAIL: UPDATE – ACTIVITY VALUE ANALYSIS (AVA) – DATA VERIFICATION EXERCISE IN REVENUE PROTECTION STRAND

Dear Colleagues

Further to LTB 086/17 published 18th February 2017 which provided an update in respect of the Joint Review of Activity Value Analysis (AVA) in Processing and Admin.

In line with the processes outlined in the Joint Communication previously issued, the Joint Functional Working Group (JFWG) is now in the process of validating base data in respect of the Revenue Protection Strand.

The JFWG will therefore be seeking to verify the managerial base data that has been presented to them in relation to duty structures and other hours that are used in each Unit. Attached for your information in order to provide you with an overview of the data that has been gathered is a copy of the staffing template that has been produced by Revenue Protection Management. A Joint Statement has been agreed with Royal Mail and is also attached to this LTB for your information.

We are sure you will understand it is imperative that the information is provided as soon as possible, what has been collated is accurate and that the document is signed off by the relevant Area Processing Representative (with the assistance of the Admin Representative where it relates to LA’s) to ensure full CWU involvement in the process is maintained.

Area Processing Rep/Admin Rep input and validation in relation to this data will be invaluable in ensuring that we have the correct information to maintain a meaningful involvement in this process going forward. The JFWG have requested the forms are completed by Wednesday 15th March; thank you in anticipation of your cooperation and assistance in this regard.

Confirmation that the information for each area is correct should be forwarded to Ian Ward, National Executive Member at iward@cwu.org in order that it may be subjected to joint analysis and review by the JFWG.

Once the information has been collated, a further meeting of the JFWG will take place to consider next steps.

Further developments will be reported.

Any enquiries in relation to this LTB should be addressed to Davie Robertson, Assistant Secretary, email: dwyatt@cwu.org or shayman@cwu.org quoting reference number: 052.

Yours sincerely

Davie Robertson Andy Furey
