Mitie Group (including Gather & Gather) –Capita Contract – TUPE to 14forty (Compass Group) – Payroll Queries following TUPE transfer
Letter To Branches 686/2017 reported on the change of contract supplying Catering, Facility Maintenance & Security Services to Capita buildings. This involved a change of employer via a TUPE from Gather & Gather and Mitie (Capita Contract) to 14forty part of the Compass Group, the TUPE of all staff took place on 15 January 2018.
Members were advised during the TUPE via a Statement of Measures sent directly to them that there would be a change of pay date and some overlap. We have been advised that the following statement has been issued to managers within 14forty if there are any problems with the crossover of pay or tax implications.
“As a result of an overlap in payment dates by Mitie and Compass Group, we believe that some employees may experience an impact on their income tax in their initial salary payments as the P45 data will not be available to Compass Group until after our first pay run. Please refer any tax related queries to the HMRC Tax office on 0300 200 3300 quoting your National Insurance number and our Compass PAYE Tax Office Ref of 671/C145.”
Members should be advised to follow the above route in the first instance.
