BT Technology – Annual Leave
Technology have recently issued a communication to all their employees regarding the use of annual leave and the importance of taking regular breaks away from work, which the CWU is supportive of as this should be normal practice.
However, it needs to be acknowledged that these aren’t normal times and the communication also states that you need to take any carried over leave by the end of June, which the union has challenged as this is not contained within the BT Group policy on Annual Leave.
In response, the business has informed the CWU that it is normal practice in Technology to take the carried over leave within a period agreed with the manager. This is something that we have disputed as it has never been custom or practice that a manager would agree triggers with individuals of when to take the leave.
We have therefore requested further talks on this matter in order to resolve the matter.
