PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE FIRST NATIONAL STRIKE BALLOT SINCE TRADE UNION ACT – TUESDAY 3RD OCTOBER, 4.30PM, MANCHESTER

 

Please note that the press conference will begin at 4.30pm.

 

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) will announce the result of the Royal Mail Group strike ballot at 4.30pm on Tuesday 3rd October at the Mechanics Centre Manchester.

 

This dispute involves over 110,000 Postal Workers and is the first national ballot to test the new thresholds introduced by the Conservative Government last year as part of the Trade Union Act. The issues at stake in the ballot include Pensions, Pay and Job Security.

 

The ballot represents a huge moment for postal workers and working people in general.

 

The Press Conference will be led by CWU General Secretary Dave Ward and CWU Deputy General Secretary (Postal) Terry Pullinger. Media will have the opportunity to film the event and ask questions of both representatives.
