BT Fleet to Rivus Fleet Solutions – transfer queries

Issue No. 046

7 November 2019

TO ALL BRANCHES WITH RIVUS FLEET SOLUTIONS MEMBERS

Dear Colleague

BT Fleet to Rivus Fleet Solutions – transfer queries

The CWU met with Rivus Fleet Solutions last week, this being our first meeting since the acquisition from BT Fleet earlier this month.

We are aware that a number of issues have been escalated from members to both Rivus directly and ourselves at national Level.  There are often issues with the transfer of ownership of a business and this understandably causes a period of uncertainty and concern.

Once they come to light, most are quickly dealt with and resolved.  We are now in full discussion with the Rivus senior team, with a commitment to meet on a regular basis.

Can you please ensure that issues are raised in the first instance with your line manager and if that doesn’t resolve the issue, to contact your local CWU branch.  The branch will escalate to national level if they are unable to resolve.

Please find as follows an update on a number of issues that we can now provide clarity on:-

Fleet Solutions Retirement Saving Scheme with Standard Life:

All BTRSS members were enrolled into the Fleet Solutions Retirement Savings Scheme with Standard Life.  Employee and employer contributions continue as previous.  We have advised Rivus that it is felt that there is a shortage of detail regarding the new pension scheme and they agreed to take this issue away.

HR Enquiry Email:

We have received a number of complaints that there has been no reply to issues raised via email.  We brought this matter to the company’s attention. Hopefully this is now resolved.

Attendances:

There has been notice given in a number of workshops with regard to attendance patterns and opening hours.  A number of queries have been raised to national level.  Information is currently being collated by the national team with a meeting established to progress discussion. We will communicate more specifically and in detail on this matter following.

Apprentices:

We are aware that there are a number of issues regarding apprentices, particularly in relation to pay uplift and contract.  We are in correspondence with the company and will update you accordingly.

Pay & Allowances:

A number of members are advising that various payments have not been received. You will need to raise this in the first instance to your manager or HR.  If the matter is not resolved then please escalate to us.

Transferred Terms:

We have received a number of enquiries relating to what arrangements transferred across to Rivus Fleet Solutions. To confirm, all your contractual terms and conditions of employment transferred.  Non-contractual benefits also transferred, such as Special leave, Annual Leave Carry Over, Absence Management etc. However some of the supporting systems may have changed.   Letter to Branches (LTB) 507.2019 refers in more detail.

Housekeeping and Cleanliness:

We have raised your concerns with regard to the cleanliness and general state of the estate with Rivus FS.  They are aware of the issues around the workshops and are escalating and reviewing with CBRE/ISS.  If issues are not resolved please escalate your concerns to your branch as there is an agreed escalation process for them to follow with regards to facilities issues.

Union Subscriptions:

For those who pay their CWU subscriptions via payroll (DAS) you may have noticed that these have not been taken in last month’s pay. We are trying to resolve this issue but can confirm that your CWU membership is unaffected.

Thank you for your patience throughout this period.  Please be assured that we will continue to update you regularly.

Yours sincerely,
