The CWU has recognition for all field engineers, excluding
head end engineers, in the exTelewest franchise areas of Virgin
Media, but has members right across the company, regardless of
franchise area. We continue to build our membership amongst the
head end engineers.
Beyond Field engineering, we also have members working in many of the call centres and in Virgin mobile, as well as amongst planners, project managers and sales staff. We negotiate pay for our members in the recognised areas and recently (2011) completed negotiations on the Aspire scheme which is the Pay and Reward Scheme for Service Technicians. Please see below a link to our bulletins on pay and other issues.
The CWU has been campaigning for a similar introduction of pay bands for the Network Engineers, a set of negotiations that is still ongoing. (Feb 2011)
