On the 1st November 2014 all existing Capita employees working on the Service Birmingham contract at Waterlinks House and Fort Dunlop Birmingham were transferred to Birmingham City Council (BCC). The transfer resulted from a review of the joint venture by the City Council, deciding to bring the contact centre operation back in-house.
Subsequent to the transfer BCC progressed consultation regarding the new organisation design for Customer Services, bringing together the previous Service Birmingham managed contact centre and the existing BCC Customer Services into one team. Employees will be transitioned into new roles.
Discussions are ongoing with regard to transferring ex Capita employees onto BCC contracts.
