customer services, retail banking, IT, technical, mortgages, loans,
printing, security and catering.
Santander bought Abbey National in 2004 and added the Alliance & Leicester as well as Bradford & Bingley's branch network and retail deposits in 2008. Santander employs around 25,000 staff in the UK.
