Romec Pay Update - 02 February 2010
TO ALL BRANCHES
Dear Colleague
RE: Romec Pay
Branches will be aware that the 2009 Romec pay review remains unresolved. The union rejected a Romec offer of an unconsolidated lump sum of £200 (£250 for Technician 2s, £275 for Technician 1s) at the end of last year and advised Romec that we would be seeking a 2 year deal covering the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 pay years.
We have confirmed to Romec that the union is seeking an agreement based on a consolidated increase in basic pay which takes account of the trend in inflation as measured by RPI and the significant contribution made to Romec's substantially increased productivity by CWU members. We are also seeking a 2 hour per week reduction in working time.
We are seeking to move the talks on quickly in order to reach a conclusion prior to the 1st April settlement date.
Branches will be kept advised of further developments.
