**Latest news**Produban Pay Deal Recommended
The Communication Workers Union is recommending a pay deal in Produban worth 3.1 per cent to standard performers in the middle of the pay scales, in a consultative ballot which starts shortly. This is the first pay deal that the CWU has reached with Produban since CWU members joined the Company following a TUPE transfer.
Under the terms of the proposed agreement members on performance related pay will receive increases of up to 5%, with the increase for a standard performer in the middle of the pay scales being 3.1%. The deal is structured so that the lower paid will receive higher increases and pay rises.
'On Call ' and 'Call Out' allowances will be the subject of a separate review and any improvements will be backdated to March.
Commenting on the proposed agreement, CWU assistant secretary Nigel Cotgrove said: "At a time of great economic uncertainty this is a good deal for our members that also boosts the position of the lower paid. The CWU's national negotiating team is recommending the offer - which is the first pay deal that Produban has negotiated with the CWU or indeed any union - and is urging members to vote for the agreement in the ballot".
Produban is a Santander business which provides IT services to the Bank. If accepted, the pay rise will be back dated to 1st March 2011.
