Parcelforce Engineers
Coventry Engineers Pay Ballot Result
Following lengthy negotiations our Parcelforce Engineers have voted in favour of accepting the 2010 /2011 pay deal and the agreement is as follows:
Agreement between Parcelforce Worldwide and the CWU for engineering grades 2010
Introduction
The negotiations have been reasonably challenging whilst recognising the external pressures facing the business and the impact of higher inflation on employee's pockets. The content of these discussions have focused on the obvious comparable position with operational CWU colleagues and the need for us both to respond to the priorities of maintaining job security and continuing to offer industry leading terms and conditions, whilst recognising the specific role that engineers contribute.
We are pleased to have arrived at the following 12 month negotiated settlement.

It is Parcelforce Worldwide strongly held ambition to explore new markets and grow significantly over the next 5 years to double our current size. Plans are far reaching and complex and will continue to evolve over the coming months.
More specifically to participate on those areas that addresses ongoing operational efficiencies within both the National and International hubs. The following principles have been agreed.
To support the operational needs of the business Parcelforce may be required to review the existing shift rota patterns. Any proposals will be submitted in line with current national agreements and the national IR Framework Agreement with the intention of reaching an agreement at local level. Both parties agree to work collectively to ensure a healthy work/life balance is maintained for engineers.
To embrace new technology to its maximum opportunity, specifically with the removal of the "Crisplant" maintenance monitoring system and the introduction of the replacement "maintenance management system" including the use of PDA's to enable more efficient recording. To ensure a smooth transaction a Terms of Reference will be agreed with the CWU.
To engage locally in ensuring that specialised engineering grades are focused on performing specialist technical roles by identifying alternative solutions for non specialist remedial activities. This is conditional on no reduction to current resource and would be subject to further consultation with IR CWU colleagues
This agreement is for 12 months and will be subject for renegotiation in September 2011.
