Young members campaigning in the age of austerity
13th June 2012
CWU young members of the South West region will converge in
Bristol for a weekend-long education event focusing on 'Trade
unions campaigning and the economic crisis'.
Guest speaker, CWU head of communications Kevin
Slocombe, said: "This weekend's course is an
exciting addition to the education calendar and, in the current
climate of austerity and cuts, could not be more relevant.
"The CWU has always sought to encourage and support our
young members. This course hopes to engage with them and inspire
confidence in them to stand up for the rights of the workers
through effective campaigning and communication."
The course will open with registration from 18:30 on Friday 15th June and finish on Sunday 17th June with a session reflecting on the next steps.
