Tribute to loyal CWU Rep

5th January 2012

0CWU general secretary Billy Hayes has spoken of his sadness at the death of "loyal friend and comrade" Andy Darlison, who has died aged 54.

Andy, who had served as a national CWU rep for members employed by Romec, had been diagnosed with cancer of the lung and then suffered a stroke, before passing away at home on New Year's Eve.

Paying tribute to Andy, Billy Hayes recalled that he had been "well known and respected by many in the CWU. He was an excellent representative and a good loyal friend and comrade. Andy will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

"I am sure you will join me in offering our condolences and support to Andy's family, especially his wife Jo, at this most sad and distressing time," he added.
