POL Admin/Supply Chain members back pay deal
28th November 2011
Post Office Admin/Supply Chain workers will see their pay rise
by nearly 10.5 per cent over the next three years after 93 per cent
of them voted to back a new deal, which also brings new bonus
payouts ranging from £700 to £900 each year.
The comprehensive agreement, which was negotiated between the CWU
and POL, consolidates some existing payments and improves other
allowances and is effective from April 2011, which means
significant backdated lump sums for employees in their
pre-Christmas pay packets.
Basic wages increase by at least 3.3 per cent this financial year,
3.5 per cent in 2012/13 and 3.25 per cent in Year Three. For full

CWU assistant secretary Andy Furey, who
led negotiations for the 1,400 members affected, said that he was
"delighted that our members backed this deal by such an
overwhelming margin.
"This means that colleagues will receive the new pay rate for
2011, including back pay, overtime and allowances and £500
bonus in December salaries," he continued, adding:
"Weekly paid members will receive all of their arrears on 16th
December, except the £500 bonus which will be provided on 23rd
December.
"The complex nature of the negotiations which led us to this
point took some time, and we thank members for their patience and
for supporting this important agreement."
