Improved Paternity Leave announced

This week the Government announced proposals to make the second 6 months of maternity leave transferrable between parents from April 2011. Not surprisingly businesses have voiced their opposition to this.

Linda Roy, National Equality Officer, said "I welcome any measures which help help millions of workers balance their work family life. These changes have been a long time coming and we are already hearing that business have voiced strong opposition to these proposals. It is important that the government stands firm against the CBI and allows for this provision to come into effect as planned".
