Hero 'MoBros' raise £6,000
2nd December 2011
The CWU's 'MoBro7' posed for photos yesterday
just before they shaved off their 'Movember' moustaches,
most of them happy to see the facial adornments finally go and all
of them pleased with their efforts which are on target to raise
some £6,000 for charities fighting male cancers.
NEC member Noel McClean admitted that he had been
"relieved" to finally be able to have a clean shave
again.
"And my wife and kids were even more relieved,"
he said, adding: "My children hated the 'tache so much
they were blowing me kisses instead of kissing me goodnight."
Summing up the month, Noel said: "It's been fun and raised
money and awareness of a very important cause, so well done to all
those who've taken part."
In contrast, Eastern Region secretary Paul
Moffatt joked that he had "thoroughly enjoyed
grooming the moustache and I was tempted to keep it."
Paul added that the funds raised was essential money in the fight
to help change the face of men's heath, awareness of male
cancer to help men identify any potential problems with testicular
and prostate cancers early and hopefully get early treatment and a
positive prognosis.
"Congratulations to all who took part and let's make it
even bigger in 2012," he added.
