Eurest pay up
16th December 2011
Eurest catering members based at BT sites across the country
have voted overwhelmingly to accept the company's "final
and definitive" offer of a 2.5% pay increase.
Commenting on deal, which has been backdated to
October 1, assistant secretary Sally Bridge said:
"Crucially, we've managed to persuade the company to make
this an across-the-board increase. Some of the managers are in CWU
membership, and last year none of them got an increase at all.
"That's why we made sure this year's increase applied
to all catering grades, and our achievement has been recognised by
members who delivered an overwhelming 'yes' vote.
"We know it's not inflation proof or in line with cost of
living increases, but it was the best that could be achieved by
negotiation."
