Deal brings £400 lump sums to members
30th July 2012
Several thousand CWU members in Royal Mail network operations
and processing units in logistics are set to benefit from £400
lump-sum payments following successful negotiations led by the
union's assistant secretary Terry Pullinger.
The payments, which are triggered on deployment of agreed
Business Transformation revisions, will apply to regional
distribution centres (RDCs), network drivers, air hubs, traffic
office, admin OPGs, and LAs in network operations.
Commenting on the agreement, which brings to an end a
lengthy wrangle, Terry Pullinger said:
"It's good that we've achieved fairness for our
members and I think common sense prevailed in the end.
"We've now got defined timescales for these payments,
alongside clear criteria for the various triggers.
"Thanks to the negotiating team and thanks to our members
for their support and their patience, during what has been a trying
period for all," he added.
