Aimed at providing a full record of the campaign through its key stages, the report also details campaign tactics that can be re-used for future campaigning. CWU head of communications, Kevin Slocombe, said: "It is hoped that the report will act as both a memory and useful reference point for branches and activists."
In the introduction, general secretary, Billy Hayes, and deputy general secretary, Dave Ward, explain: "This report sets out how the CWU responded to the challenges posed by the Postal Services Bill. It details the strategy the union adopted to protect the jobs of its members, and the activities that took place in the Keep the Post Public campaign - in communities and in Parliament. It also contains examples of the campaign materials that we used to raise awareness of the proposals, and to defend the public postal services provided."
