Cycling to save young lives
CWU North West reps Pauline McAvoy and Brian Parsons (and maybe a couple of late comers) will be embarking on a 100 km charity bike ride around Liverpool on the night of 15th July 2017 in aid of the charity PAPYRUS (PREVENTION OF YOUNG SUICIDES).
At CWU Annual Conference last month delegates unanimously backed a motion calling for support for the excellent work PAPYRUS do and the help it gives young people contemplating suicide, which is on the increase – and the troubling issue of rising youth suicide rates were highlighted in a special feature in the last issue of The CWU Voice magazine- click here
CWU North West regional secretary Carl Webb said: "Pauline and Brian would appreciate any Financial help/sponsorship and awareness from NW Branches of their Charity Bike ride. Brian and Pauline are determined to do everything they can to both fund-raise and raise awareness so people can seek help and recognise that there is help out there. So let’s do all we can to help them."
