Kevin Slocombe - Communications
Kevin is the
head of the Union's Communications team. CWU communications
manages the Union's external and internal communications - in
print, broadcast and on-line. This includes media management,
public relations, campaigns, public affairs, the union's
publications, print management and design.
The Union's flagship communications are CWU Voice, published to all CWU members; CWUTV, broadcast online; and this website itself. The communications team consists of 12 people managing all the above skills.
Kevin was formerly the Branch Secretary of the CWU Bristol Branch and South West Regional Secretary, as well as holding previous roles within CWU HQ. He has formal communications qualifications, a vast experience as a trade union communicator, has previously written as a columnist for 2 magazines and is a published author. He has been the Head of Communications for 3 years. In that time, the Union's communications have modernised and are now widely recognised as a leader in trade union and third sector communications.
Kevin was born in Bristol, has 2 children and passionately supports Bristol Rovers FC.
