Gloucestershire & North Wiltshire
In 2003, Gloucestershire Combined branch and Swindon Engineering
branch merged to form the Gloucestershire & North Wiltshire
branch of the Communication workers Union.
Geographically, we cover a wide and varied area from North Bristol,
to the Royal Forest of Dean, across the Severn Vale to the North
Cotswolds then down to Swindon and the rest of the North of
Wiltshire. We still have members further afield who choose to
remain members after moving or retiring.
Demographically we represent members in engineering and clerical
constituencies within BT/Openreach along with workers in other
companies such as Monteray, O2, Virgin Media, Alliance Leicester,
and Dyson to name just a few.
If you work in the communications industry, call centres etc in
Gloucestershire or North Wiltshire, then we are the branch for you.
At present we have one learning Centre situated in Swindon TEC,
(Cheyney Manor) and are working to open another in Cheltenham.
