Being a chair is a vital role in the union. Without well chaired meetings, members would not be able to participate fully, decisions would not be taken properly and union democracy undermined. If you have to chair meetings as part of your CWU role, the CWU Chairing Meetings Effectively Course is essential training and development for you:
This course is aimed at all CWU Chairs. During the three day programme you will receive a thorough grounding in:
- The role of the Chair
- Rules and Procedures
- Reviewing experiences of meetings
- Anatomy of a meeting
- Conference standing orders
- Drafting Motions
- Chairing Conferences
The following Chairing Meetings Effectively courses are currently scheduled to take place at the CWU Education and Training Centre at Alvescot Lodge.
