Following the carriage of rule amendment 38 - I am moving amendment 39 which covers CWU members in Northern Ireland.
The existing rules recognise the difference circumstances that prevail in Northern Ireland, where there is a statutory exemption from the political fund – except where members give written consent for a contribution.
This amendment retains that principle whilst bringing the amount of the contribution into line with the rest of the contribution made in the UK.
In this sense, I hope it will prove to be a formality for you to carry this.
