Agency Regulations
Implementation of the Agency Regulations
The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 will be implemented in England, Scotland and Wales on the 1 October 2011. Northern Ireland will have separate Regulations which are expected to be broadly similar but will be implemented December 2011.
The CWU will be working closely with the agencies i.e. Manpower and hirers i.e. BT to ensure that the roles and responsibilities of both parties are fulfilled and there is a smooth transition for the agency workers to qualify for those rights that are applicable from day 1 and those that apply from 12 weeks in a given job.
This web page will be updated regularly on information relating to the rights that are applicable for agency workers.
An Agency Forum held on the 15 September 2011 presented to activists the key areas of the Agency Regulations 2010.
All future LTB's and communications on this subject will be available on this page as well as the Guidance handouts that formed part of the recent presentation given to the branches. Also on this web page will be the actual Regulations as well as the BIS Guidance and we are in the process of preparing a leaflet which branches will be able to circulate to all our Manpower members.
Any queries relating to the implementation of the Agency Regulations in BT should be addressed to Sally Bridge, CWU Assistant Secretary at CWUAgencyRegs@Cwu.org.
