BT Wholesale

0BT Wholesale

Following the outcome of Ofcom's Strategic Telecommunications Review, BT entered into legal commitments to deliver Equivalence of Inputs/Outputs.

To enable the arm's length trading separation of its Retail operations from its Wholesale operations, a new structure has been created. The new unit structure in BT Wholesale will now be:

BT Wholesale Customer Service

This team brings together the service management capabilities across Wholesale with the customer service teams that were previously in Wholesale Markets. It means that all BT Wholesale service teams are together into a single, integrated unit. The importance of this activity and the magnitude of the customer service challenges will be to migrate 30 million customer lines to 21CN.

BT Wholesale Markets

This team runs all of BT Wholesale's sales and marketing activities. It will deliver the new service benefit of 21CN to customers in an ever more competitive environment and will focus on driving solution sales and new wave revenue growth across 21CN.

Strategic Sales

This team manages the BT Wholesale relationship with its top 15 customers. It actively delivers revenue through UK and International Operators, in both the Fixed sector with customers such as C&W & AT&T, and the Mobile sector with customers such as O2 and Vodafone.

Futures & Growth

Futures and Growth is the directorate focused on driving substantial revenue growth from 800 clients who operate in the Internet Service Provider (ISP), Service Provider (SP), Cable TV and Brand Extender markets. Interfacing with the client base through a mixture of field and desk based sales teams, supported by sales engineers and client relationship managers, F&G not only drives sales revenues but actively supports BT's strategy on Broadband Britain, 21st Century Network and Telecoms Strategic Review across our client base.

Internal Markets

This team leads the internal trading team. It manages the commercial interfaces to develop and grow the relationship with internal partners in Retail & Global Services and Openreach. Building on the recently announced TSR settlement with Ofcom, this team will be focused on delivering the changes required to enhance these relationships.

Ventures

The Ventures are discrete business operations focused on key market opportunities and technologies, either utilising current BT products & assets, or areas of expertise. These resources are exploited through additional focus and accountability, creating loyalty among customers to defend existing revenues and by proactively addressing new opportunities within the wholesale ICT, Mobility and Broadband market places.

The lead CWU officer for resourcing and occupational issues, and particularly for members in engineering and technical functions is Brian Healy, Assistant Secretary.
