Conference
Conference takes place for five days each year in either
April or May and is the parliament of our Union.
Two of the five days are spent discussing issues that are appropriate to the whole Union. Then Conference is divided into sectional and industrial groupings for the remaining three days.
Conference 2012 will run from Sunday 22 - Thursday 26 April at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC), Bournemouth.

All CWU members are entitled to attend Conference. If you wish to be a delegate, you must make an application through your branch.
Visitors, who are members of the union, may gain admission to the observers area by showing their membership card. Non member visitors should make a request for a visitors' pass in writing and indicate the capacity in which they would be making the application.
The conferences are motion based. The closing date for motions is usually around the beginning of March for General Conference, and April for Industrial Conferences each year. Around 1200 delegates representing the Union's 300 000 members attend.

Motions should be sent
if by post by first post or by email to conferences@cwu.org no later than
12 noon.
Conference also attracts a small army of exhibitors. These include:

The constitutional organisation of Conference, including the Agenda, Documentation and Standing Orders is dealt with by various Standing Orders Committees.
We produce a Conference Guide that will be distributed to all delegates and visitors attending the CWU Annual Conference. If you have organised an event that is to be held at conference please let us have full details for inclusion in the guide. Branches and regions are invited to place fraternal greetings adverts in the guide.
